Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

It is essential to maintain the testing of all portable appliances on an annual basis to ensure their electrical safety for all users as stated in the Electricity at Work Regulation 1989. The legislation specific to electrical maintenance includes requirements stipulated by the Health and Safety Act and the frequency of tests depends on the nature and use of the appliances (6 months - 5 years).
